January data now available in GIRFT’s Spinal Interface Dashboard (SID)

The latest data for NHS services in England caring for patients with spinal conditions is now available in the January update of GIRFT’s Spinal Interface Dashboard (SID).

The SID dashboard, which launched in September 2025, is a resource for monitoring the clinical effectiveness and efficiency of interface spinal services.

Integrated care boards (ICBs) complete a monthly survey and the data is brought together with various other data sources into one dashboard, to allow ICB-level comparison of services. The SID displays broad metrics such as risk factors and prevalence of back pain, and more specific data in areas such as primary care prescribing, diagnostics, referrals and waiting times.

The version updated for January 2026 is available to NHS colleagues on Futures here: GIRFT Spinal Interface Dashboard (you may need to request to join the workspace).

Mike Hutton, GIRFT’s clinical lead for spinal services, said:

“This dashboard is a key tool in enabling ICBs to monitor how well services are working, as well as understanding what good looks like and learning from one another.

As we release this January 2026 update, I’d especially like to congratulate the Devon, Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin (STW) and Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated care Boards for being the top three ICB submitters of data.

Going forwards we’d like to see more ICBs submitting their data on a monthly basis. We know that not all will have a complete data set but the submission form takes account for this, so please work towards submitting as much of the data as you can.”
