Clinical Ambassadors

GIRFT has appointed 17 leading clinicians to join its regional implementation teams as Clinical Ambassadors, working with clinicians and senior managers at local NHS Trusts to improve quality of care in response to the findings of GIRFT specialty deep-dive visits and national report recommendations.

Clinical Ambassadors will help Chief Executives, Medical Directors and other clinicians and managers to draw up plans for the strategic opportunities raised across the 35 separate GIRFT workstreams. The experienced and leading clinicians appointed will facilitate support for trusts to tackle the challenges and findings behind the unwarranted variation that the GIRFT deep-dive visits highlights at a local level in specialties. The GIRFT Hub teams will be supporting Clinical Ambassadors in their work.
