GIRFT seeks specialty advisor for gastroenterology

The Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) programme is looking to appoint a national gastroenterology specialty advisor to support reducing unwarranted variation, with a focus on developing pathways, sharing best practice as well as providing focused support for challenged trusts.

The role will involve working collaboratively with relevant stakeholders including the British Society of Gastroenterology, Royal College of Physicians, NHS England and commissioning teams.

The specialty advisor will provide expertise in supporting the implementation of the national recommendations for gastroenterology outlined in the GIRFT national report.

The appointment is offered via a memorandum of understanding (MoU) agreement with the substantive employer at 0.1 WTE/1PA session, for a fixed period of 12 months (with the potential to extend at the annual review).
