The Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) programme is supporting two webinars run by the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) aiming to support clinicians working on acute medical pathways.
The webinars are on:
22 July 2021: The acute medicine and specialty interface (register here)
29 July 2021: Same day emergency care across medical specialties (register here)
The webinars will support teams working across specialties to develop and deliver new and consistent best practice. The aim is to stimulate and guide local teams, highlight national guidance and link physicians to practical examples and experiences.
Among the speakers will be three GIRFT clinical leads: Dr Sarah Clarke, joint national GIRFT lead for cardiology and clinical vice president of the RCP, who will speak on both webinars; and Drs Mike Jones and Philip Dyer, GIRFT joint clinical leads for acute and general medicine.
On 22 July, Dr Mike Jones will be sharing national guidance and real-life examples about how the acute medical unit can best work with other speciality teams to provide the most efficient and effective care.
On 29 July, Dr Philip Dyer will share some same day emergency care models, showing how successful innovations and practices can be utilised and adopted.
