New OMFS dashboards now live on NCIP portal

New data dashboards for oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMFS) are now available on the the National Consultant Information Programme (NCIP) portal, enabling consultant OMFS surgeons to review their procedures and outcomes for patients.

All OMFS surgeons in England can register for access to the 18 OMFS dashboards now live on the NCIP portal.  The tool allows consultant surgeons to review their personal practice on a confidential platform with access to locally and nationally benchmarked activity data and outcomes.

To support consultant surgeons in using the dashboards and to introduce new users to the portal, a lunchtime learning event is being held on 25 March 2025 (12pm – 1pm) to demonstrate its benefits.

OMFS is the tenth specialty to be rolled out by NCIP and the dashboards include two head and neck dashboards and three trauma dashboards where clinicians will be able to see outcome data at provider level. The head and neck dashboards include the work of all specialities carrying out head and neck cancer surgery.

The dashboards have been developed by NCIP’s clinical leads along with consultants from across England.

Over 10,000 surgeons are already accessing their data on NCIP, benefiting from robust, nationally benchmarked, personalised data that supports clinical quality and patient safety.  The portal is hosted on the Model Health System platform, allowing clinicians to move between NCIP and GIRFT data, and a wide range of other metrics.
