Our repository of easy-access best practice case studies support trust teams to emulate exemplar practice being achieved by colleagues across England.

Alongside tackling unwarranted variation, a key element of the GIRFT ethos is to identify and share of best practice between trusts, highlighting processes which can improve care and patient outcomes, as well as deliver efficiencies.

In conjunction with trust teams, GIRFT is building a collection of single-page case studies to support improvement and offering solutions in common themes and priorities, such as digital innovation, reducing length of stay and improving day case rates.

There are currently 23 case studies on the GIRFT FutureNHS space, covering 12 specialties, with more being added all the time. The current collection includes examples of how spinal surgery day case rates have improved at Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust, details of South Warwickshire’s programme for enhancing recovery following hip and knee arthroplasty, and how Bradford Royal Infirmary is delivering digital innovation by adding QR codes to plaster casts.
