Launch of national online pathway for headache care
NHS England’s Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) programme has launched England’s first national online pathway and decision-making tool for the care of patients presenting with headache symptoms, supporting GPs and pharmacy colleagues to offer good headache management and care.
Hosted by Dr Niranjanan Nirmalananthan, GIRFT’s joint clinical lead for neurology, this webinar will demonstrate how the pathway can be used by GPs and pharmacy colleagues, for the management of headache and to decide on treatment options (where appropriate), based on national standards and best evidence.

Improving UEC spinal pain pathways: physiotherapy and ACP-led solutions
GIRFT clinical lead for spinal surgery, Mike Hutton, is hosting this webinar to share best practice from high performing sites who have successfully improved spinal pain pathways in UEC, specifically using physiotherapy and ACP-led solutions.
Our guest speakers will discuss how they have introduced physiotherapy and ACP-led spinal pain pathways in their trusts, such as the SDEC model for patients with spinal pain and the use of Spinal Assessment Service to reduce first outpatient waits and increases surgical conversion. The session will identify practical steps and quick wins for trusts looking to implement similar pathways.

From ESC to supportive oncology: Improving care for people with pancreatic cancer
On World Pancreatic Cancer day, GIRFT pancreatic cancer clinical leads Professor Daniel Palmer and Dr Ganesh Radhakrisha are hosting this webinar to hear from leading clinicians who have pioneered and shaped enhanced supportive care and supportive oncology.
As the National Cancer Plan commits to expanding and improving supportive oncology, we are delighted to be joined by Dr Daniel Monnery, Dr Kate Tredgett, Wendy Farrell and Dr Richard Berman who will discuss the role of enhanced supportive care and supportive oncology in improving outcomes and helping people live well with pancreatic cancer, while making better use of NHS resources.

Improving First Contact Physiotherapy (FCP) services: the GIRFT handbook and FCP improvement programme
Hosted by Andrew Bennett, GIRFT community MSK clinical lead, and Andy Saunders, GIRFT community MSK clinical advisor for First Contact Practice this webinar will discuss the soon to be published FCP handbook.
This practical resource has been developed to support those responsible for commissioning, providing or leading FCP services, to enable FCP services to deliver high quality, safe and effective care. Through practical checklists and supporting resources, it aims to help systems strengthen governance, improve integration and support high-quality, consistent care.

Hosted by GIRFT’s joint clinical leads for urology services, Suzie Venn and Ben Ayres, the first webinar in this series will review the requirements for SPoA, hear best practice examples from early adopters and learn about different approaches to SPoA that are being developed across the country.

Recognising and managing HLH: what’s changed in the updated GIRFT pathway?
GIRFT has updated the consensus pathway and supporting guidance for the diagnosis, treatment, management and governance of the rare condition, haemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH). Dr Peter Lanyon, GIRFT joint clinical lead for rheumatology, is hosting this webinar to discuss why the pathway matters and what has changed in the updated version.
We will be joined by rheumatologists Dr Rachel Tattersall (Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and Sheffield Children’s Hospital) and Dr Jessica Manson (University College London Hospitals), who have updated the pathway and we will learn what has changed and how adopting the pathway can make a difference to patients.
